![]() If you’re looking for a very unique RTS, look no further than this game. Īll in all though, Tooth and Tail is a surprisingly deep test of strategy and skill that is paired with a story that isn’t to be missed. You will have fun in the online mode with very quick matches and easy handling, no need to do multi-tasking as in Starcraft. This doesn’t mean other games have to follow this design from here on out, but it shows that things can be done differently while being immensely enjoyable.Ĭonclusion: For those who like Pixel Art and RTS, you should buy the game not being very cheap worth. It proves that innovating on an old school genre is sometimes the best thing needed. Providing endless amounts of fun with fair and fast-paced action, Tooth and Tail fights tooth and nail for its place in the RTS pantheon. Those looking for a hot new strategy game should look no further than Tooth and Tail. Its humour and quick mission times make it an interesting prospect in a genre filled with far-too-serious stories and long, drawn-out missions but the constantly babysitting your units drags it back from being anything truly special. In short dont overlook this game as its labelled as an RTS, It is an RTS but the S stands for SPEED! With online and local play you can always find someone to play against. Anyone can quickly pick this up and have fun. Speed aside the game is very inviting thanks to its quirky charms and simple controls. With matches lasting less than 20 minutes, It really will surprise you how fast it is. The generated maps mean you dont need to memorize the layouts or fear someone will know the map better than you. Tooth and Tail flips the RTS genre on its head and proves you can have all the strategy of an RTS, But in a fast and effective way. I look forward to many, many more matches over the coming months. The controls are simple, games are quick but there is a nice amount of strategy to experiment with and enjoy. ![]() The creature based units are far to experiment with and the pixelated art style looks great. ![]() A beautiful art style, a wonderful score from Austin Wintory (what doesn’t he do these days?), and simple controls with a deep understanding of mechanics leads to a fantastic console debut for Pocketwatch Games. It does some things you may not love with the mechanics from the norm, but I promise they work well once you get used to them. If you’re a fan of real-time strategy games, regardless of where you enjoy playing them, it’s a safe bet you’ll love Tooth and Tail. I hope that a strong community forms around Tooth and Tail because it has rekindled my love of RTS games. The story mode is robust and greatly enjoyable, but the multiplayer still has all the bells and whistles that veterans expect by now like replays and post-match graphs. I can easily recommend Tooth and Tail for anyone who enjoys the genre, even if you don't care for multiplayer. ![]() Cinematic Trailer | Musical Trailer | Story Mode Trailer ![]()
